It is better to give than to recieve
Jesus said it is better to give than to receive. Today on our way to the school we passed out candy to the children walking on the road. Although it was a very small gesture of kindness it brought our whole family great joy to see them smiling with thankfulness from ear to ear. Not all the children accepted this gift. One boy in particular refused to take it and when we gave it to his father ,he angrily threw it to the ground. It reminded me how God gives us the gift of His Son Jesus but we must receive it..

This brings to mind Matthew 13:3-8:
And he told them many things in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
It is indeed beautiful.
