Building Basketball Court (Kenya Style)

Anyone who knows our family knows we love basketball. So our first project was to put up a basketball hoop and begin teaching the village children around the school how to play. The children enjoyed watching and playing but it was the staff that seem to enjoy it the most. The pole holding the back board up was a tree and the court was dirt but that did not matter. The staff seemed to become little children as they laughed hilariously at themselves and one another. The longer they played the better they played. The better they played the more aggressive and competitive they became, especially the women. Soon it became a game of basketball mixed with a little wrestling.

Willow taught the children some basketball and they taught her some soccer.

You could scout out some talent while you guys are there! I must say...I am surprised that it took so long to get a hoop up...Love seeing the pics and hearing all about what the Lord is doing in your lives. Praying for you guys! Anita
